This week's reflection has you comparing two articles:
First read "Adding A Dyslexia-Friendly Mode To A Website" (Barstow, 2021) and highlight sentences in the text that provide directions to make websites more dyslexia friend.
Then read "Dyslexic Myths Presented as Truths" (Williams, 2021) and highlight sentences in the text that point out problems in the Barstow article. Once done highlighting, please:
- Select one highlight from the Williams article that points out a problem in the Barstow article.
- Explain why you agree or disagree with the highlight.
- Explain how the 'discussion' between the two articles — "Adding A Dyslexia-Friendly Mode To A Website" (Barstow, 2021) and "Dyslexic Myths Presented as Truths" (Williams, 2021) — influences your practice as a designer or developer.
Submission
Your responses can be submitted anytime before the end of lecture on October 24 to Andrew in class.
Grading
This reading reflection is worth 5% (5 points) of your final grade.
- 0.5 points for submitting your reading with highlights as requested.
- 0.5 points for clearly citing which highlighted portions of the text you are referring to indicating a page or paragraph number.
- 2 points are given for a clear and concise explanation of why you agree or disagree with the highlight.
- 2 points are given for a clear and concise explanation of how the discussion between the two articles influences your practice as a designer or developer.

- You only need to complete two reflections over the term.
- There are four available.
- You may complete up to three reflections and the lowest grade will be dropped.
