Wrapping up P2 (October 24 - October 31)
P2 coming due
As was discussed in the last class, P2 is due next week. As we did not manage to do a lecture on content the rubric is being adjusted to remove the following categories from the Content section of the rubric:
- "Are there different and effective routes to find products?"
- "Is labelling of navigation and headings logical for the user?"
The points for these two pieces have been added to the Design and Code sections. Any changes to the rubric have been annotated using strikethroughs and underlines.
Accessibility exercise
Please keep in mind that there is an accessibility exercise for you to work on this week. It will help identify some of the issues we have talked about previously in class and ideally improve your P2 deliverables.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about the exercise.
Website testing tools
Available at ah.link/tools is a collection of website testing tools for you to make use of, including:
- The website 'code assistant' to help you see where there are common errors that validators may not see
- Links to HTML, CSS and JS code demos for common 'how do I' questions
- The validator we introduced that allows for multiple page HTML, CSS and some accessibility validation.
- Responsive viewer that allows you to test different sizes of displays in one place.
- Colour viewer that provides an approximation of different kinds of colour blindness.
Bring P2 to the next lecture
In our next lecture we will be testing your P2 submissions against project criteria. Please arrive on-time with your project uploaded to your filespace.
