Starting templates (June 3 - June 10)

Starting templates

This week you will start building out your templates for P2, assembling the elements you have build in P1 into pages for your site.

Git exercise submission issue

Apologies but it seems that I have broken Canvas so the submission for the git exercise wants a ZIP file (and I cannot change this). Please submit a URL in the comments for your exercise submission and we will grade it accordingly.

Git tutorial recording

For those who want to review the git tutorial it is now available on last week's pre-recorded lecture page.

Pre-built starter package

One of the questions from lecture was if there could be a pre-built git starter package, specifically with the .gitignore and .gitattributes files already made. I have made one available on Gitlab and have put together a brief video (available below) of how to make a copy of it for yourself.

It will be scheduled check-ins for P2 (and git). You may just have to wait a couple of minutes while Vahid wraps up with the previous person.

If you do not see your name on the list please email Andrew or message him on chat to organize a time for some feedback.

A PDF of the reading is available on Canvas. The reading should take about 41.5 minutes to finish (8300 words).
