Questions?
From insights to designs
One approach to creating direction from your insights is to begin translating them into 'how might we' statements.
Cautions
Much like with our research questions and insights, how-might-we statements want to avoid a couple of common hang-ups:
- Not focusing on the user's needs/outcome.
- Stating a solution.
- Avoiding too broad or focused statements.
Mad libs
(Round 2)
Some fill-in-the-blanks style how might we statement options to get you started thinking:
- How might we action the experience of user when they describe challenge?
- How might we help user feel emotion when they action?
- How might we positive action of item for user?
You have 8 minutes.
Systems thinking
As a designer, systems thinking is meant to help us understand the bigger context in which we are working as well as to challenge our framing of a given problem or space.
Systems thinking
Categories
Mapping the system as it is.
What we are focused on today, understanding the 'broader picture' of the space we are working within to uncover other opportunities for understanding what we are designing for.
Envisioning the future.
What we will talk about in a couple of weeks, somewhat connected to IAT-431.
