Prototypical testing
An overview of this week's lecture:
- 9:30 — A couple of groups will be presenting
- 9:45 — I will give an overview of final presentations and what to expect of P5
- 10:00 — Remaining class time will be for critiques and final presentation sign-ups
Extension clarifications
If you received the project extension, you may choose to present this week (July 24) or next (July 31). I will need to know before 10:00pm on July 23 if you are planning on presenting on July 24.
All deliverables are due to Canvas on July 31 if you have received the extension.
Recommendations for presentations
Some reminders when preparing your presentations.
Presentation content:
- Time is short, focus on covering only what is required:
- Description of the context of the problem.
- A rationale for why it is a problem.
- An explanation of what your solution is.
- A rationale for why your solution is effective.
- Highlight how your solution addresses the problem you are tackling.
- Do not walk us through the feature design process — focus on the outcomes.
- Do not open up your interactive prototype — pull gifs or screenshots to highlight important pieces.
Presentation design:
- Do not use long text in the slides — we are there to listen to you present, not to read.
- Consider how the design of the slides can help us interpret the content quickly and easily.
- Pull quotes and examples from your interface and/or research to support your case.
- Use citations that point to your interface and/or research materials (if needed) to support your case.
Questions or concerns?
Of course should you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email Andrew, email Alfredo, email Cynthia, or message on course chat and we will respond as quickly as possible.
