Instructions
While reading or after reading "Selections from" (Pater, 2019) please highlight sentences in the text that introduce ideas new to you.
Once done highlighting, please:
- Select one highlight that introduces something new to you.
- Explain what you understand the highlight is saying.
- Explain why this idea is new to you.
- Describe what you may do with this new idea and why.
Submission
Your responses can be submitted anytime before the end of lecture on Nov 8 to Andrew in class.
Grading
This reading reflection is worth 5% (5 points) of your final grade.
- 0.5 points for submitting your reading with highlights as requested.
- 0.5 points for clearly citing which highlighted portion of the text you are referring to.
- 0.5 points for clearly and concisely explaining what you understand the highlight is saying.
- 1 point for clearly and concisely explaining why this idea is new to you.
- 2.5 point for clearly and concisely explaining what you may do with this new idea and why.
How reflections work
Just a reminder about how reflections work:
- You only need to complete two reflections over the term.
- There are eight available.
- You may complete up to three reflections and the lowest grade will be dropped.
