Instructions
While reading or after reading "Selections from" (Hall, 2012) please highlight sentences in the text that introduce knowledge or ideas that are new to you.
Once done highlighting, please:
- Select one highlight that introduces knowledge or ideas that are new to you.
- Explain what this highlight has introduced to you that is new.
- Explain how you could apply the new idea from this highlight to your design work in this course. Use a specific example to illustrate.
Submission
Your TA will have a print-out for completing the reading reflection on in your October 21/22 lab. You will need to provide a print-out of the reading. Reading reflections must be completed in your lab time.
Grading
This reading reflection is worth 5% (5 points) of your final grade.
- 0.5 points for submitting your reading with highlights as requested.
- 0.5 point for clearly citing which one highlighted portions of the text you are referring to by including a quote and indicating a page or paragraph number.
- 1 point for a concise and on-topic explanation of what the highlight introduced to you that is new.
- 2.5 points for a concise and on-topic explanation of how you could apply the new idea from this highlight to your design work in this course.
- 0.5 points for providing a specific example to illustrate.
How reflections work
Just a reminder about how reflections work:
- You only need to complete two reflections over the term.
- There are four available.
- You may complete up to three reflections and the lowest grade will be dropped.
