P4: Creative Project (due June 18)

Introduction
Your final project involves pursuing your choice of creative project for the remainder of the term, and then reflecting upon the experience.
This project may be completed individually or in groups.
P4: Creative Project is worth 50% of your final grade.
Weekly instructions
This project spans multiple weeks. Please read the weekly instructions carefully.
Starting on June 2
Continuing on where you left off with P3, you will have some feedback on how to revise or revisit your proposed direction for the final project. For your first check-in with Andrew you will need to prepare:
- Your updated timeline. This will be the timeline by which your project is assessed so please ensure you are clear about what you are delivering at each meeting.
- A statement describing what your final deliverables will be. Be clear and specific about what you expect you will deliver when the project is due on June 18.
- Three things that you will self-assess your project on. Each of them will be:
- A short sentence or statement that describes what is being assessed.
- Clearly connected to what you deem as important to determining your project's success.
- A qualitative measure or a mix of qualitative and quantitative measures. Purely numeric assessment — ie. I will do this in under 100 lines of code — will not be accepted but mixes of numeric and qualitative assessment — ie. I will do this in under 100 lines of code while maintaining legibility and efficiency of the codebase — will be.
- Not an existing rubric criteria.
Be prepared to explain why you believe each of these is a reasonable measure in your next meeting with Andrew.
- Any deliverables you have defined in your project plan.
Bring to your next meeting with Andrew
- Your updated timeline.
- A statement clearly and specifically defining final deliverables.
- Your three self-assessment criteria.
- Any deliverables defined in your project plan.
From June 2 to June 18
Between the start and end of the project time-use and check-ins are defined in your timeline. The timeline you have proposed ties into how the project is assessed in the end, so keeping your timeline feasible and manageable is an important part of the project.
Please note that you are responsible for coming to class or check-ins prepared to provide an update on your progress and what is next.
Final delivery on June 18
During this week's class we will hold a final presentation of your projects. There is no formal assessment of the presentation but be prepared to share what you have made and collect feedback on what you have completed.
After the presentation of final deliverables we will hold the self-assessment based on the criteria you have defined. This will be done in-class so please be prepared to reflect on your criteria and how you would situate your work.

Final submission requirements (June 18)
The final submission for P4 is a URL or ZIP file containing the final deliverables.
Your project submission is due to Canvas before your June 18 class. Projects will be showcased in class.
Please make sure double-check all your submitted URLs to ensure they can be opened. We want to avoid late or problematic submission penalties whenever possible.
